Phoenix International Raceway Tickets
Located in Avondale, Arizona, near Phoenix, the Phoenix International Raceway is a mile-long tri-oval speedway first opened in 1964. It was actually developed as a home for open-wheel racing. In later years, though, NASCAR came to the raceway and become the dominant force there. In 2005, the speedway did not host an Indy Racing League race for the first time in its history, but since this was about the time that NASCAR was gaining in popularity, it did not hurt the raceway much. Among current events are the Subway Fresh Fit 500 and the Checker Auto Parts 500 from the Sprint Cup Series; the Bashas' Supermarkets 200 and the Arizona Travel 200 from the NASCAR Nationwide Series; and the Phoenix 150 from the Craftsman Truck Series.
