Mansfield Motorsports Speedway was opened in the early part of the 21st century as a .5 mile track in Mansfield, Ohio. It is known among drivers and fans for its high banks and wide surface. These features make it a good place for close racing and passing. Mansfield was designed specifically with NASCAR and stock car racing in mind. While some tracks sit idle for weeks or months at a time, Mansfield's track is occupied weekly with modified and stock car events. May 2004 saw the course's first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event, and in 2006, the track was sanctioned for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series.
