Homestead-Miami Speedway Tickets
The NASCAR season starts in Daytona, Florida and ends near Miami, Florida, at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. This track in Homestead, FL hosts the season's last race, the Ford 400, as well as several other events. The Homestead-Miami Speedway was built partly to help the area recover from damage wrought by Hurricane Andrew. After a 1993 groundbreaking, the track opened in November, 1995. When it first opened, the track was a four-turn rectangular oval, modeled after the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, there were complaints that it was difficult to pass on the track, and so in 1997, after an $8 million construction project, the shape was changed to a more traditional continuous-turn oval.
