Chicagoland Speedway Tickets
Traditionally, at least until the 1990s, stock car racing had been thought of as a southern sport. But as the sport gained popularity, more fans in the nation's heartland expressed an interest in seeing a race in person. The first to answer this request was Indianapolis, but they were followed soon by officials in the Chicago area. The Chicagoland Speedway is actually located in Joliet, Illinois, and is one of the newer NASCAR tracks. Constructed in 2000, the track has a unique D shape and runs for 1.5 miles. It has a front stretch of 2,400 feet, with the back stretch running 1,700 feet. The track's stands seat about 75,000 spectators. The International Speedway Corporation purchased Chicagoland Speedway in February of 2007.
